How this is going to help you achieve your goal of becoming a published author

Updated: Aug 13, 2020

This is where we take the first steps toward building the self-belief you need to finish writing your book and put it out into the world!

But before we begin, I want to talk a little about where you might be at right now.

So let me ask you this…

Over the years, have you ever come to point in your life when you said to yourself –

“This is it. I really want to follow my dreams and become a full-time author..."

Were you full of enthusiasm and just knew without a doubt that this time you would see it through no matter what? Perhaps you even began to sense how you might feel once you made it...

Then for a week or two, maybe even a month, you stayed on course. You set up a writing space, developed your characters, found time every day to write... and then you started to slip.

Then for a week or two, maybe even a month, you stayed on course. You set up a writing space, developed your characters, found time every day to write... and then you started to slip.

A day here, a day there. Then a week went by, and you know the rest of the story…

Am I right?

Hey, we’ve all done it. I used to be the worst for starting a book and getting all excited only to veer off track and never actually finish.

And you know what? It’s not your fault because all of those dreams and manuscripts that lost along the way, got lost because you didn’t have the right tools to see your goals through.

You did the best you could with what you had at the time, right?

But never fear…

You are finally in the right place because this course is not about setting goals only to see them slowly disappear before your eyes.

This course is about taking action right here and right now to create the right foundation, ensure your mindset is solid, and proudly presenting your finished book to the world.

This not about learning - it is about doing.

You see, all those plans and goals you made in the past didn’t come to fruition because you were trying to start a new goal using an old mindset.

Does that make sense?

In this course you will learn how to master you thoughts, feelings, and decision making processes so you won’t self-sabotage yourself through negative internal dialogue and the influence of those around you.

Once you learn how to control your thoughts, feelings and decisions you will truly become the master of your own fate. You will experience a sense of freedom that you cannot imagine because you will no longer be pushed and pulled by external forces. You will be in complete control.

Once you learn how to control your thoughts, feelings and decisions you will truly become the master of your own fate.

Are you with me?

If you are a person that can relate to the idea of being reactive, and by that I mean allowing negative influences to shape how you feel, you’ll know what I am talking about.

I was just the same. But to explain it better, let’s think of outside influences as the filters apps you might use on your phone photos.

On the phone’s screen you have your main photo and down below there are a series of different filters you can choose from.

Let’s say one filter is called – ‘My partner thinks I'm wasting my time trying to chase my dream of becoming a published author'. If you choose that filter it immediately covers your entire image. Not a pixel escapes right?

So, if you view your goals through a filter of insecurity and self-doubt, just like all those pixels, everything you do will be filtered by a sense of impending failure.

Alternatively, if you choose a 'Grateful' filter you might view the same situation a lot differently. You may even see it through a filter of – ‘I am so grateful that I know what my dreams are and the only person who can stop me achieving them is myself'.

Does that make sense?

And look, there will be times when this is really hard - especially when other obligations and tasks pop up that interfere with your writing time, but the most important thing is not letting those 'filters' colour all your intentions.

This is so important because while working toward your goals, you are going to come up against challenges. You are going to get side-tracked by life. There will be disruptions, temptations, disappointments, and times when you have to pick yourself and keep going.

If you don’t have the skills to choose how you are going to react in those moments, or to choose what filter you’re going to use, you will come undone just as you may have in the past.

The reason this is so important is because depending on how reactive you are, a single incident could derail all your plans.

This is because it can create a cascading affect. It can start with one simple thing like a negative comment, a pause in creativity, or bout of impostor syndrome, and before you know it, you’re saying things to yourself like ‘What’s the point?','I'll never be good enough', or ‘I can't do this...'

The thoughts quickly manifest into actions and before you know it, you’re doing the one thing you promised yourself you wouldn’t:

Making excuses not to write...

Believe me, I know how quickly it can snowball.

Then you come down on yourself so hard for messing up. You tell yourself things like - 'I knew I couldn't do this...' and suddenly bam - you are right back to where you started except you feel even worse because you think you failed.

The thing is, how were you ever going to succeed trapped behind a filter of self-doubt?

You were never going to get there and that’s why it wasn’t your fault.

But now that you know better…

Let’s get to it!

I'm ready! Let's do this....
